Dr. Glenn Sandler is a graduate of Colgate University and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his surgical training at the Albert Einstein Medical Center and entered surgical practice in 1995. Dr. Sandler has been Chairman of the Department of Surgery as well as Chief of General Surgery, Director of the Breast Screening Program, and Moderator of the Breast Cancer Tumor Board at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. In addition to the management of breast disease, Dr. Sandler has a strong interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, gallbladder surgery, and hernia surgery. He also has certifications in robotic surgery and breast ultrasound and actively participates in the placement of partial breast irradiation catheters to reduce the length of radiation for patients who choose lumpectomy in the management of their breast cancer. He has lectured at national conferences and taught techniques in breast surgery, laparoscopic gallbladder and hernia surgery as well as open hernia surgery throughout the country. Dr. Sandler is also currently a manuscript referee for “Hernia,” the official publication of the American Hernia Society.

Since 2006 Dr. Sandler has participated in surgical missions to San Pedro Sula and Comayagua, Honduras providing surgical care to the indigent communities of Central America. He has been consistently named as one of the area’s Outstanding General Surgeons by the Washingtonian Magazine as well as by the Consumer Checkbook. When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Sandler spends time with his wife and daughter.
